Aconteceu na noite desse domingo (17) o Critics Choice Awards 2016, a premiação dos críticos de TV norte-americanos. O evento, que teve T.J. Miller como apresentador, premiou, pela primeira vez, séries de TV na mesma cerimônia. O emocionante filme O Quarto de Jack premiou Brie Larson, Melhor Atriz e o pequeno Jacob Tremblay, Melhor ator/atriz jovem.
O filme Spotlight: Segredos Revelados desbancou Mad Max: Estrada de Fúria na categoria Melhor Filme. Mesmo sem ter conquistado esse prêmio, o longa levou nove troféus para casa, incluindo o de melhor diretor para George Miller. Leonardo DiCaprio, indicado na categoria Melhor Ator pelo filme O Regresso, conquistou mais uma estatueta. Agora só falta o Oscar.

A notícia ruim é que o longa brasileiro Que Horas Ela Volta? não conquistou uma estatueta no Critics Choire Awards. O filme, estrelado por Regina Casé, estava concorrendo na categoria Melhor Filme Estrangeiro.
Já nos prêmios da TV, a estreante Mr. Robot venceu as principais categorias, incluindo melhor série dramática, ator e ator coadjuvante. Master of None, nova série do Netflix, surpreendeu e levou o prêmio de melhor comédia.
